A prettier picture

Now that's a prettier picture of my morning grits than yesterday! I figured I would pull out the "nice" work bowl to eat my breakfast this morning! 1/4 instant grits with 1/3 cup Weight Watchers Mexican cheese. Yummy! Do you ever feel like some Weight Watchers products upset your stomach? I find that sometimes that happens to me....

Already had some grapes, might hold on to the orange until later because I ended up having a large lunch! And I have a remote at Gentilini Ford in Woodbine tonight from 5-7pm - come by! So, I will need to portion out my afternoon snack so I'm not starving at the event!

I brought lo mein leftovers (there weren't many leftovers...) for lunch, but the company splurged on lunch for us because our awesome sales team met their 1st quarter budget! So, I had a meatball, a crab cake a wedge of chicken quesadilla and loaded up some veg. Twas marvelous.

Maybe between my orange and a cup of Starbucks later, I can resist dinner until I get home. That way I can snack on a little something and then watch Lost!!! Tata.

Chinese takeout made at home

Lunch was totally yummy for 6 points. A Morningstar Chix patty on a bagel thin with a Laughing Cow cheese and some red pepper strips, toasty warm and delish! With some carrots and pepper strips with red pepper hummus! I think I got my fill of red peppers!

Dinner tonight was another of the fiancee's wonderful creations. He made shrimp lo mein, home made style!

1 crown of broccoli
1 pound of shrimp
1 TBSP sesame oil
2 cups coleslaw mix
1 cup of sugar snap peas
Garlic
Lime juice
Lo mein noodles
Red pepper flakes
Trader Joe's Soyaki

I could drink this stuff! It's SO good!! It's just like teriyaki sauce, but not thick and sprinkled with sesame seeds. I could have eaten 6 bowls of this stuff, but I stopped after one - approximately 7 points for a cup if noodles loaded with veggies.

Twas delicious. We enjoyed some tea after dinner - I tried the new Sleepy Time Vanilla tonight and the fiancee had Tummy Mint. It was good, I'm still a fan of the original though.

Monday, new week, new day

Honestly I didn't want to eat anything this morning just because I'm feeling so badly about myself, but I decided to take the first step in the right direction. I had 1/4 cup of instant grits with 1/3 cup of Weight Watchers Mexican blend cheese. Delish.

I also sipped on some coffee and the orange is waiting to be eaten as I type :)

I had some tummy mint tea this morning while I was getting ready for work and it helped a little bit. On days like this I don't want coffee because it will usually upset my stomach, but I didn't sleep real well last night, so I need some kind of fuel.... Lunch is pretty epic, so stop by a little later on. Tata.

Wow - where have I been???

I swear this past week and weekend just disappeared.... I haven't blogged since last week and I feel a little guilty, but I just didn't have the time! I'm not going to go through everything I have eaten in the past 4 days because I don't have pictures and frankly, I'm embarrassed. After the Bon Jovi concert last week, everything pretty much went down hill. I have my Weight Watchers weigh in on Wednesday's and my extra points get replenished. I'm already out of them and it's only Monday. I feel disgusting and gross. And it all stems around alcohol. If I didn't go to Happy Hour, I would be 20 pounds lighter! I did end up getting in a good workout on Saturday, but that's it. I won't get into too many details, but today is a new day and I have to push myself this week and do a better job about late night (drunk) eating and get my arse to the gym. Nuff said. Also because of the wedding, I have had something to do every single night - photographer, florist, etc - so getting to the gym has been difficult. I WILL do better this week. I will...

Dinner and a date with Bon Jovi

Dinner Tuesday night was Subway on the go because we had tickets to go see Bon Jovi! I know he's totally cheesy and overly dramatic, but he puts on a great show. It was a great night! Sorry I didn't grab a pic, it was just a normal 6 inch turkey and cheese on wheat. It was ok.

I was craving sushi all day today, so I gave in. I feel like sushi is such a treat, but it's really so good for you! Check out this little dish to hold the soy sauce! So cute and SO smart, I always have to find some container to put my sauce in. Do you mix your wasabi in your soy sauce??

I got a nutritionally void green salad with ginger dressing and I enjoyed every bite. This particular Japanese restaurant (Fuji to be exact) had a special lunch special, 2 rolls for $6.99 and the salad was only a dollar extra! I chose the spicy tuna and eel and cucumber. I always get spicy tuna, it's my absolute favorite and I consider myself a connoisseur. This one was just ok, not great, but the eel was awesome! I will definitely be getting that again!

Dinner was much more of a bust.... sigh..... I stopped at Arby's on the way home. So ashamed of myself... I had a regular size roast beef sandwich and curly fries.... Why did I do that? Because I stayed up too late again last night and I had a few drinks at the concert. The fiancee suggested and I gave right in....So needless to say I didn't take any pictures of the Arby's and I'm about to log into Weight Watchers online to see how many points all of that fast food gloriousness was... Ok, I'm over it, it's totally fine and at least it wasn't McDonald's.....

Leftover eats

Tuesdays lunch was pretty boring, but that doesn't mean that it wasn't delicious! More stoup was consumed and it was great..

And an apple was crunched a little bit later in the afternoon. It was really hard, so I only munched on about half of it.

Breakfast was the best yogurt EVA! Pineapple Chobani is seriously the best flavor and my grocery store always has it!! The grapes were pretty good too ;)

Ray Ray's Sausage Stoup

I picked up all the ingredients to make Rachael Ray's Sausage Stoup. A stoup is thicker than a soup, but not as thick as a stew. This recipe was great! You can find the full recipe here. I used hot Italian turkey sausage crumbled and sauteed in some EVOO. Hey, I am making a Rachael Ray recipe....

I boiled the broccoli rabe for a few minutes (you're supposed to let it cool and chop it into bite size pieces, but I forgot...)

Sauteed the onion and garlic until softened...

Then I added the chicken stock, tomatoes beans and broccoli rabe and I let this simmer for about 30 minutes.

Then I added close to 2 cups of whole wheat rigatoni. The recipe only called for a cup and a half, but I went with a little more. Cause I like more...

The end result is thick and delish! I estimate it's about 6 points for a cup and a half. Very filling and so good for you!

Manic Monday...

Back to work with big cup of (upside down) coffee...

And FINALLY I found carmel Oikos!! So good! And an apple...

Lunch was leftover polenta with spaghetti sauce. Nothing exciting, but I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture! OOOps! Dinner was at a place in Washington Township called Jack's. This place looked really nice - very cool place, too bad their food was pitiful.... I ordered a glass of wine and this Mediterranean plate. It looks good, but it had no seasoning, no olive oil, no salt or pepper and not to mention, no olives or cheese. Who serves a platter of food like this without at least olives.... The fiancee was disappointed with his wings as well. We shant be returning to this place. I guess it's good to know, but it's always a bummer when you try a new place and it sucks. The service was bad too, a server (not ours) didn't wash her hands after the restroom - that's just gross...

Sorry for the horrible Blackberry pic.... It's as good as the food at this restaurant! He he he...

Sunday Funday

I ended up finishing my leftover diner salad Saturday night before I met a few girlfriends out in Philly. The drinks were as good as the conversation! Sunday turned into a super funday! We slept in (again) thank goodness! And by 1130am, we were starving. So, we split a can of Trader Joe's Organic O's - so good! I think half of the can was 3 points! We also split a wheat bagel thin ( i heart these) and some veggie cream cheese. Twas a delicious way to start off my Sunday!

I ran to Target to pick up the latest edition of the Twilight Saga: New Moon on BluRay, don't judge, you know you love it! I stopped by the grocery store and filled our fridge with healthy goodness! And because it was so beautiful outside, we decided to enjoy some Corona Light out on the deck and grilled ourselves some dinner. We had TJ's chicken apple sausages, chicken tacos and bison burgers!

Bison burger - great lean meat!

I opted to eat my chicken sausage on a potato roll without any condiments. I enjoyed the sweetness, it was almost like a McGriddle from McDonald's!

We also grilled some chicken for chicken soft tacos! My favorite!! I probably had 6 beers over the course of 6 hours! Oh well, we came inside when it started to get dark and watched "New Moon" and it was more fabulous than when I saw it in the theater! :)

Saturday Girls Night!

We slept in until 11AM!!!! So excited, it felt so good. We had to go to Gloucester Plumbing to pick out all of our bathroom stuff - sink, vanity, lights, shower, etc etc. It was actually really fun! I think what we picked out is going to be beautiful! Before the shop, we ate lunch at the diner. I was craving veggies and this fried chicken salad was calling my name. Delish. I also munched on some naan bread and hummus. I am meeting the girls at 9pm in the city tonight for some much needed drinks and catch up! Tata!

A couple pics of Carrie...don't be jealous!

We were lucky enough to be part of Carrie's Backstage Experience, as they call it, she sang a song for about 12 people in a small room backstage. Then we got to take pictures with her and get her autograph. The pic with me and her is AWFUL, so I'm not posting it.....boo.

The past two days....

It's been a crazy two days! Friday after I left work, I ran by the Borgata and picked up the fiancee and headed over to the boardwalk. We needed to grab a little something to eat and then head over to Boardwalk Hall to see Carrie Underwood. We found this great little sushi place in the Piers at Caesar's that overlooks the ocean. It was delish!

It as happy hour, so we ordered a $4 glass if win. SCORE!

Edamame. Perfectly hot and salty.

The happy hour menu also had $4 spicy tuna rolls, we got two. We also ordered a "pizza". One piece had spicy tuna, one had tuna tartar, one had grilled shrimp. It was really good.

Sake bombs were also on special and we've never had one, so bottoms up! They were pretty good...

Now we're headed over to the concert for a meet and greet and the show!

Thursday eats from Atlantic City

My eats from Thursday night and Friday (backwards...)

The Macedonian Grill sponsored my lunchtime show this week, so on Friday they brought lunch to us! So so so good. I LOVE Greek food, really anything Mediterranean. I filled my plate with Greek salad, a small scoop of potato salad and a gyro wrap. The tzatziki was to die for. Yummy and tart and creamy!

Here is the day time view out of room. So sad to check out today. :(

On to Thursday night eats. We had planned a dinner at this super cool place called "Izikya" So yummy - sushi and Japanese Yakatori - unfortunately, they are closed on Wed and Thurs! WHAT! SO BUMMED! darn it. darn it. darn it. Oh well, we headed over to Wolfgang Pucks, it's a good standby. I was HANGRY! Started with a piece of onion foccacia bread. Holy yum. And that was just the beginning...
Oh well, we headed over to Wolfgang Puck's - always a good time! By this time I AM HANGRY! Started with a piece of their caramelized onion foccacia. Holy yum. And this is just the beginning...
I was in serious need of vegetables in my life, so I ordered us a big Caesar salad with white anchovies. Good to have some greens in my life!

The fiancee ordered the ribeye steak with fries. Their fries are like McDonald's = delishousness. Because that is a word....

I order the chicken breast with goat cheese and garlic mashed potatoes. Holy yum, again. And again.....

The fiancee shared some fries with me. :) He loves me!
We split a bottle of wine and headed to the Gypsy Bar to see a band, but only made it through the first set. We called it an early night because today will be a long day - I'm about to leave work and we're going to see Carrie Underwood!!!!!

Quickest post ever....

Breakfast was my last La Yogurt! This one was really good. The banana is still sitting on the desk....

Lunch was leftover chicken in broth from a couple days ago...
Emergencees and an oatmeal cookie. Seriously in need of some veggies in my life....

AC or bust!

We are living at the Borgata!! I feel like Khloe Kardashian living in a hotel. Well, I guess I'm not really "living" in a hotel like she did, but I feel like it because I leave in the AM to go to work and then "come home" in the evening! On to our epic dinner last night.... This restaurant used to be called Umbra - it was incredible - then they changed chefs and it all went downhill, quickly. Next thing you know, it's called Forneletto. SO much better! Below is our delish din din.

I had the wine, fiancee had a blood orange mohito. Yum yum yum.

The bread was to-die-for- said in my best Paula Deen accent :) - we made our won olive oil dip with red pepper flakes, sea salt and cracked black pepper.

We split the salami picante and some mixed olives. Totally satisfying and salty.

We finally ordered the "Four Seasons" pizza. The fiancee is Italian and he said that he ate a lot of this pizza the last time he was in Italy. It was incredibly delicious! Not too cheesy, not too saucy and perfectly thin and crispy. The sauce was made from San Marzano tomatoes - it doesn't get better. That's like the caviar of tomatoes. I had a piece and a half. We ended up taking 2 pieces back up to the room, it was the perfect amount of food.

An authentic Italian after dinner drink is this neon yellow stuff - it's called Strega (which means "witch" in Italian) It's oddly refreshing and a digestive, so it's perfect for after a wonderful meal. It tastes like a minty, fennel-ly, sweet something or other...... There is no other way to explain it. It's super hard to find at restaurants. You know it's authentic Itailian food if they have this stuff.

We were going to go see a band, but the bar was super packed, so we opted for the B Bar and a martini. Should have stopped right there, but why not have another glass of wine? Because I had to work the next day, that's why! Oh well, you only live once! We decided to get in some gambling before the night was over, so I played some slots and lost $40. No big deal. I'm headed to that roulette table tonight! At this point I had ANOTHER glass of wine (it's free at the casino - why not?) and finally said good night with quite the buzz. Needless to say that leftover pizza didn't have a chance.....
I woke up this AM with a slight headache and a dry mouth. A couple of gallons of water and 2 Advil later - I'm ready!!!
Now, when I woke up - I asked the fiancee when he came into the room - he said 1:45 AM - then I saw the stack of chips on the nightstand! He won $1100!!!! He's a 3 card poker master! This is the night view out of our room - it looks out onto the main strip of AC.
